Tim Cook CEO of Apple unveiling Ipad 3, first time without Steve Jobs!

The new ipad was announced yesterday, and like expected it features a retina display. With 2048 x 1536 resolution its probably the best tablet pc screen out there. And on 9.7″ that equals 3.1 million pixels at 264ppi.

Also it has the new A5X processor wich has basically the same specs as the tegra 3, but apple still promises it will perform up to 4x faster than the Tegra 3!

It also has a new camera with 5MP and a backside illuminated sensor. Also you can film in 1080P.

Also you will be able to push a button on the keyboard and dictate what you want to write, kinda like in Android.

The new iPad also has 21Mbps HSPA+, but it also has an LTE radio capable of pulling down 73Mbps on both Verizon and AT&T here in the US. Outside of the states Rogers, Bell and Telus will also be scoring 4G flavors of the iOS tablet. Amazingly enough, even with an LTE antenna on board, Apple is still claiming to get 10 hours of battery life. That’s probably partially do to the slightly increased weight of 1.4lbs, though the 9.4mm thickness is not  to shabby. I must say this was better than expected even though it dosen’t feature anything exiting, it seems like a damn good tablet!

The new iPad will be available March 16th, starting at $499 for the 16GB WiFi model and scaling up to $829 for the 64GB version with 4G. So, on the price front, nothing has changed. Pre-orders start today in the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia, and the rest of the world will (probably) follow on March 23’d.https://i0.wp.com/images.freshnessmag.com/wp-content/uploads//2012/03/apple-ipad-3-rumors-01.jpg?w=740
